Communicall Connect
Communicall Connect is an advanced communications system designed for use in grouped housing, supported housing, sheltered housing, retirement villages or anywhere there is a need to provide extra support for residents in a group setting.
The system provides for two way communications between the resident and care staff and/or the resident and our social alarm monitoring centre. This allows for an efficient and effective way of ascertaining the needs of a resident who is looking for assistance.
Communicall Connect can also be integrated with the full range of emergency sensors such as personal pendants, fall detectors, epilepsy sensors, carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors etc. This allows the system to be tailored to suit each individual residents needs which ensures greater freedom and independence for people living on their own. The use of telecare products make sure that staff time is used in the most cost-effective way possible as it generally eliminates the need to constantly check on residents.
Main Components of Communicall Connect
Control Panel
This is the main control unit for the system. All the main parts of the system are wired back to this. It only requires access for maintenance and upgrading purposes.
System Control Panel (SCP)
This is a keypad type unit usually located in a manager’s or caretaker’s office and is used for day to day programming of the system as well as doing “daily calls” to each resident if this facility is required.
Speech Modules
One of these is installed in each house or apartment and is wall mounted in a central location. They have an integrated emergency button as well as a pullcord. The speech modules allow high quality hands free two way speech between the staff and/or monitoring centre and the resident. The speech modules can also be used in conjunction with a door panel to speak to someone wishing to gain access to an apartment and unlock a door.
Door Panel
These are generally used in apartment blocks and are installed beside main access doors. A visitor can call an individual apartment and speak with the resident. The resident then has the option of unlocking the door by pressing a button on the speech module.
DECT Cordless Phone System
This is used where staff are on site for a period of time each day or are permanently on site. Staff members carry cordless phones with them and calls from residents speech modules are routed through to the cordless phones. When a call is answered the house or apartment number or residents name is announced as well as the type of sensor which was triggered e.g. “call from unit 24, personal pendant”. The staff member can then accept the call and speak with the resident via the speech module and ascertain the nature and urgency of the call and give reassurance to the resident.
Radio Receivers
Radio receivers can be installed to give full coverage throughout the site for telecare sensors. All telecare sensors operate wirelessly and the radio receivers are used to pick up the signal when a sensor is activated.
Emergency Sensors
A whole range for emergency sensors can be installed in conjunction with the Communicall Connect system. These include personal pendants that are worn around the neck or wrist and can be pressed to summon help as well as a variety of other sensors that help people to live independently. These sensors operate wirelessly and are very easy to add or remove from the system allowing solutions to be tailored to each individuals needs.

Programming and scanning the buttons is performed by a mobile hand-held reader, which allows staff to quickly identify an individual item of clothing. The buttons can be attached to any piece of clothing or personal effect that can be washed, such as slippers, hats, comfort cushions, stuffed toys and a laundry bag for delicate items too small for a button.
